Travel Series Part One: Jewellery

So I am going to be moving to Africa in August and I wanted to do a travel series for all of you.

I actually am not a pro at packing anything however I do have some tips which I would like to share and I am always finding new inventive ways to store and pack the things that I need to talk particularly makeup and accessories.

So while I was deciding which jewellery I wanted to take with me I also had to think about how I would store all my earrings, necklaces, bracelets, etc.

I found this bead separator at Wal-Mart and decided this is the best way to store my jewellery and take it with me. (picture below). It's basically a clear plastic case which has square dividers and you can place your jewellery in each compartment.  All jewellery stays in its place and it is easy because it wont topple over in your suitcase.  You can also get these at any craft stores such as Michaels and possibly even the Dollar store. I find this the most practical for me because the container is clear and I can see which jewellery is in which compartment and also my earring and necklaces will not get tangled together which is always a problem I face.

Another idea I have is to buy a jewellery rolls which basically serves the same purpose as a brush roll (which stores all your brushes).  The jewellery roll also has many compartments in it with zippers and it rolls nicely so that all your jewellery is safe in one spot.

Also, when travelling with jewellery make sure that if the jewellery is expensive ex. Tiffanys or Pandora to ensure that you keep those items in a soft pouch or small box so that it does not get damaged.  Majority of these pouches and boxes are given when you purchase the jewellery.  If you have enough pouches you can also just store them in a small makeup bag and pack it in your suitcase.

Since majority of jewellery is costume jewellery and rather inexpensive I will not be storing everything in pouches.

This comes to an end of the Travel Series part one but make sure to stay tuned for more of this series :)
And if you have any tips which can help me please do comment below!
